QuickTime VR and JPEG Panorama

This page contains two versions of a panoramic shot of the virtual House of Pansa's interior. The QuickTime Virtual Reality (QTVR) panorama allows the viewer to freely look around the atrium from the vantage point of a client, by dragging the mouse within the QTVR window. The JPEG panorama allows the viewer to scroll left and right on a flat image in the browser window. Click a link below to choose which version of the panorama you wish to view, or click the link at the bottom to return to the Salutatio at the House of Pansa Index page. Once you are finished viewing the QTVR or JPEG panorama, please click the "Back" button on your browser to return to this page.

Both of these panoramas place the viewer in the virtual House of Pansa during the morning salutatio. Slaves usher in the procession of clients, all waiting to pay homage to their patron. A slave stands by as you wait to be received in the tablinum, and other clients are visible speaking with the paterfamilias and waiting in the front doorway.

QTVR - Immersive panorama (requires QuickTime plugin, available here.) - Navigate by clicking on the scene and dragging your mouse in any direction you want to move. Push the Shift key on your keyboard to zoom in on the scene, and the Control key on your keyboard to zoom out.

JPEG - Flat panorama - Navigate using your browser's scroll bars (at the right and left of your browser window).
