SALUTATIO AT THE HOUSE OF PANSA

Right Ala

This is a view of the right ala, or wing, of the house. To the left is an oil lamp on a tall, thin stand, and a door leading deeper within the house. The entrances to the alae were each marked by Corinthian columns with cornices, which match in miniature the massive columns and cornice that frame the tablinum.
